I’m David L. Bledsoe. I live in Arizona and Life Along the Edge is my personal blog. Most of what you need to know about me you can discern herein. I’m in my 50’s, have one wife and three daughters. I’m a follower of Jesus, but do a really lousy job at it. I think most “religious people” do, but I wanted to get that out right up front.
I enjoy the outdoors, beer, especially a stout or an IPA, Jack Daniels (usually with Coke, a mix that made my late father cringe) and sex. At my age, with homage to George Burns, sex no longer gets top billing. I enjoy a good cigar on occasion. Usually from the Dominican. They make good shortstops and cigars. I am a licensed veterinarian, but I am not in clinical practice. I own my own veterinary pharmaceutical research consulting company. And I write. I hope you enjoy.
The theme and title of the blog reflect how I approach life. On the edge. Someone wrote that life is not meant to be lived safely, limping into the grave, but sliding in completely worn out; shouting, “holy shit, what a ride!” When I no longer feared life ending, life living became much more enjoyable.
We each have a story to tell. Some are better at telling it than others. I’ll let you decide whether I am any good. My life experiences, education, and faith give me an outlook that may be a little different.
I hope you enjoy the difference!
